Working with Social Media
In Campfire, CodeBot can connect a workspace to a configured social-media account and help with Instagram content review, comments, messages, mentions, insights, discovery, and publishing.
These capabilities are workspace-scoped. Campfire stores the selected account for the workspace and asks for approval before connecting accounts, replying, moderating, or publishing.
Connect an Account
Instagram accounts can be connected via the Account Manager sheet.
CodeBot can list configured social-media accounts, connect the current workspace to an account, and show basic profile information for the connected Instagram account.
Typical prompts:
- "Connect this workspace to our Instagram account."
- "Which social-media accounts are configured?"
- "Show me the profile info for the connected account."
Review Content and Engagement
CodeBot can list recent posts, reels, videos, and stories, then inspect comments, reactions, and account or media insights.
Typical prompts:
- "Summarize recent comments on our latest posts."
- "Show me engagement for the last campaign."
- "Find comments that look like they need a reply."
- "Compare recent post performance."
Use this for inbox review, campaign reporting, and engagement triage.
Reply to or Moderate Comments
CodeBot can draft and send comment replies, hide or unhide comments, and delete comments when supported by the connected account.
Typical prompts:
- "Draft a friendly reply to this comment."
- "Hide spam comments from the latest post."
- "Show me the reply before sending it."
Replying and moderation require approval. CodeBot should use comment IDs returned from account data, not IDs guessed from visible text.
Discover Hashtags, Mentions, and Profiles
CodeBot can search hashtags, list public media for a hashtag, list mentions, group recent people activity, look up Instagram Business or Creator profiles when available, and open public profile URLs.
Typical prompts:
- "Find recent media for this hashtag."
- "Show mentions of our account this week."
- "Look up this creator profile."
- "Group recent engagement by person."
Instagram does not expose every surface users may expect. These tools do not provide a personalized home or Explore feed, and follower relationship fields may remain unknown unless Meta exposes them to the app.
Work with Direct Messages
CodeBot can list recent conversations, inspect messages in a conversation, and send text replies through Instagram DMs.
Typical prompts:
- "Summarize recent DMs."
- "Find the conversation with this username."
- "Draft a DM reply and wait for my approval."
Prefer conversation IDs or recent participant usernames over raw recipient IDs.
Publish Content
CodeBot can create and publish an Instagram post, reel, story, or carousel using local workspace media files, absolute local paths, or public HTTPS media URLs.
Typical prompts:
- "Prepare this image as an Instagram post with a caption."
- "Publish a carousel from these three files after I approve it."
- "Draft a caption for this reel and show me before posting."
Publishing requires approval after the user has reviewed the intended media, caption, account, and post type.
