Working with Discourse
In Campfire, CodeBot can connect a workspace to a Discourse account so it can help with support topics, private messages, unanswered threads, searches, and replies.
Use this when Discourse is part of the work you are doing in the workspace, such as triaging support, drafting replies, finding related discussions, or checking which topics need staff attention.
Connect a Discourse Account
Discourse accounts can be connected via the Account Manager sheet.
CodeBot can list configured Discourse accounts and connect the current workspace to the one you want to use.
Typical prompts:
- "Connect this workspace to our Discourse account."
- "Which Discourse accounts are available?"
- "Use the support forum for this workspace."
Connecting a workspace to an account can require approval.
Review Topics and Private Messages
CodeBot can list recent topics, find topics without replies, find topics where the last reply is not from staff, review private messages, and summarize group private messages that need attention.
Typical prompts:
- "Show me recent topics that still need a staff reply."
- "Summarize private messages that need a response."
- "Find unanswered topics from the last week."
- "Open the topic about license activation and summarize it."
Use this for triage and situational awareness before replying.
Search the Forum
CodeBot can search the connected Discourse instance and inspect matching topics.
Typical prompts:
- "Search Discourse for similar reports about this error."
- "Find previous answers about installing the Android SDK."
- "Look for related support threads before we answer."
Reply or Archive
CodeBot can draft and send replies, and it can archive private-message topics when that is the right follow-up.
Typical prompts:
- "Draft a reply for this topic, but show it to me first."
- "Reply with these troubleshooting steps."
- "Archive these private-message threads after confirming they are resolved."
Sending replies or archiving topics requires approval.
