Understanding the main window

The Campfire main window is centered on the workspace you opened. It gives you a file-oriented view of the folder, a place to work with CodeBot chat, and visible feedback when tools inspect or change the workspace.

The exact layout can evolve between builds, but the main ideas stay the same:

  • The workspace file tree shows files and folders in the opened workspace.
  • CodeBot chat is where you ask questions, request changes, and review results.
  • Activity feedback shows when Campfire reads files, edits files, runs tools, or updates workspace state.
  • Settings and approvals let you decide what Campfire may do in this workspace.

Working From the Main Window

Start with the files. Use the workspace tree to orient yourself, then ask CodeBot about the folder, a file, or a task you want to complete.

When Campfire needs to inspect files, it can use workspace tools to read them. When it needs to change files, run commands, or perform external actions, it can ask for approval before continuing.
