Installing Campfire

Install Campfire from the current Campfire download or release channel. The exact download location, system requirements, and update behavior depend on the build you are using, so follow the instructions that came with that release.

After installing, launch Campfire like any other desktop app. The first thing you will normally do is open a folder and turn it into a workspace.

Before You Start

It helps to have a folder ready. This can be:

  • A code repository.
  • A documentation site.
  • A folder of content or media.
  • A small test folder if you just want to try Campfire safely.

If the folder is a Git repository, Campfire can show repository state and help with Git workflows after approval. If the folder is not a Git repository, you can still use Campfire normally.

Updates

Campfire may offer update settings depending on the build. If automatic updates are available, choose the update behavior that matches how you want to receive new builds.
