Use these setup guides when you want GitBrowser to connect to local AI models instead of using an AI provider

To enable CodeBot in GitBrowser, you have three options:

Connect to an AI provider of your Choice

  • If you have an API key for OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, or Grok, open the Account Manager sheet via the "Tools|Manage Accounts" menu item. Click the "..." button in the bottom left, and choose the "Add..." menu for the provider of your choice. When prompted, type or paste your API key and click "Add Account*".

Use Your CodeBot for Delphi Credits

  • In "GitBrowser|Settings" (Mac) or "Tools|Options" (Windows), select the "CodeBot" tab and choose your "RemObjects" account as the active "Account:" setting.

Use a Local AI Model Runtime

  • If you are an experienced AI user and have your own AI models set up in LM Studio, NVIDIA NIM or Ollama, open the Account Manager sheet via the "Tools|Manage Accounts" menu item. Click the "..." button in the bottom left, and choose the appropriate "Add Local..." menu option. If needed, adjust the URL you want to connect to, and click "Add Account".

Local AI models usually are not quite as capable or fast as cloud models, but in exchange they work without online AI credits, and also keep all your requests and code on-premises.

We recommend only choosing this approach if you know what you are doing and have experience with these tools.
